Mobility Tech Talk #2 - What's Ahead for Automotive Semiconductor

The automotive semiconductor market is expected to reach USD 48.78 Billion by 2022, at a CAGR of 5.8% between 2016 and 2022, the positive growth rate made automotive segment one of the most attractive spaces for semiconductor and microelectronics companies to target. These factors giving rise to the automotive semiconductor industry include Autonomous Driving, Electrification and Connectivity.

Recently the autonomous systems most likely will include devices to sense the car’s environment like Lidar, radars, ultrsonic sensors, cameras, GPS sensors and more.

Semiconductors have enabled most of the recent innovations in automotive technology, including vision-based, enhanced graphics processing units (GPUs) and application processors, sensors, and DRAM and NAND flash. Meanwhile, the remarkable growth in the connected car and communication domain cannot be ignored as well.

This year SEMI Smart Automotive SIG arranges the forum for the topic of What's Ahead for Automotive Semiconductor. This event will bring together leading experts in automotive and electronics fields to discuss a wide range of business and technology issues, ongoing trends, and emerging applications.
