Future of Manufacturing - From Concept to Production
Abstract:
To answer the upcoming challenges of industry and manufacturing – increased efficiency, faster time to market and higher flexibility – the vision of the Future of Manufacturing has to be turned into reality. Siemens is in a leading position to bring the concepts into production. With its Digital Enterprise Platform (DEP) and the currently available portfolio of Totally Integrated Automation (TIA), Siemens has the necessary foundation. In certain references like the Siemens Electronics Works Chengdu (SEWC), the turn into the reality can be demonstrated. Following this and other experiences, the direction and guidelines for the next steps towards the Future of Manufacturing are defined.
