Abstract:
The integration of large number of connected sensors/actuators prompts the concept of Internet of Things (IOT). The implementation of IOT systems will require more rigorous system methodologies including definitions of system framework and the selection of the system building blocks. The engineering of a particular IOT system not only to make the system to function as expected, but also to evolve continuously to maximum the economically useful life cycle. Dr. Yang’s presentation will start the presentation with using well-known Client-Server-Device structure to explain his view of an IOT system and the set of building blocks to construct a particular IOT system solution. Dr. Yang will continue to briefly talk about the possible issues on the continuous evolution of an IOT system – impacted by the fast progresses in broad-band Internet, personal devices and big data.
