Jack Huang is Partner-in-Charge of the Jones Day Taipei Office. He has practiced law in Hong Kong, New York, and Taipei. Jack’s practice encompasses a broad range of international investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investments, technology enterprise representations, technology licensing, infrastructure projects, and other corporate transactions. He is one of the first international corporate lawyers who pioneered in representing multinational clients in China investment matters in the late 1970s.
Jack’s representative transactions include: Micron Technology’s investment in Inotera Memories and joint venture with Nanya Technology; Micron Technology’s sponsorship of Elpida Memory reorganization and acquisition of Rexchip; MediaTek’s merger with MStar Semiconductor; Sino-American Silicon Products’ (SAS) acquisition of the silicon wafer business from Covalent Materials Corporation; TSMC’s spin-off of solar and solid state lighting businesses respectively into TSMC Solar Ltd. and TSMC Solid State Lighting Ltd.; Capella Microsystems’ merger with Vishay Intertechnology.
Jack has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in M&A and Capital Markets for many years, and was recognized as one of “Asia’s Top 25 M&A Lawyers” by Asian Legal Business Magazine in 2009. He received the “M&A Outstanding Achievement Award” from the Taiwan M&A and Private Equity Council in 2013.
