Topic:
Infrastructure for IoT

Abstract:
Driven by the growing global demand for increased communication and increased mobile and server data traffic, CMOS technologies will require continuous innovations in the field of ultra-low power operation, performance, density scaling at an affordable cost.

In the Internet of Things smart mobile devices like tablets and smart phones, integrated with various sensing instruments, are the devices being used around the cloud computing infrastructure, as they replace desktop and laptop computers as the more prolific user-interface. IoT studies show that we will have 16 billion connected devices by the year 2020. CMOS technologies need to be combined with specialty sensing components and advanced packaging to enable solutions for connecting the unconnected through the Internet of Things.

In this presentation, we will analyze the technology infrastructure on the research horizon, to enable future IoT solutions.
